With the success of the vaccine rollout, the UK economy is on track to recover for 2022, with SMEs now fully reopened. In particular, the 365 Business Finance Partnerships Team has seen a significant growth in demand, resulting in a 370% increase in the number of funded deals in Q1 2022, in comparison to Q1 2021.
To help manage this growth, we’re proud to welcome Paris Laldee to the 365 Business Finance Partnerships Team, who will be working alongside Chris Thorne and Amy Jones.
We sat down with Paris for a Q&A session, to get to know him on a more personal level, and delve into all things merchant cash advance and partnerships related.
Tell us about yourself, your professional background, and your current role at 365 Business Finance
Paris Laldee: Born and raised in London most of my life, currently live in Putney with my cat “Thor” and a Bulldog Puppy “Archie”.
I started working in Fintech over 7 years ago when many Lenders were in their start-up stages. During this time I have had the pleasure of meeting /working with some of the most gifted minds in the industry which has made working in Fintech a dream come true for me.
As Senior Partnerships Development Manager for 365, I am always looking for new Partnerships and overseeing all aspects of that partnership, from onboarding to reporting / day-to-day relationship management. I have a very keen interest in API’s and Affiliate Relationships.
What are your hobbies and passions – that is, how do you like to spend your time outside of work?
Paris Laldee: I think I’m a fairly active person on the whole, my interests include: travel, skiing, golf, and off-road motorcycling to name a few.
When I am not out meeting friends and family, I enjoy being a bit of a movie buff, some of my favourites are Lord of The Rings, Game of Thrones (Series), and dare I say it, Star Wars …
What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
Paris Laldee: During my teenage years, I lived in California doing pet rescue and grooming.
What do you enjoy most about the alternative finance market?
Paris Laldee: The thing I enjoy most about the Alt Finance market is the success stories you uncover by helping businesses that a high street bank wouldn’t. In most cases, we support small to medium size businesses to expand or survive peak and troughs.
What are your thoughts on the future of fintech and the alternative finance market?
Paris Laldee: I think the end of RLS will see our industry return to some sense of normality. However, I feel businesses have become far too comfortable with the "Non PG" offering that BBLS, CBILS, and RLS funders have allowed. I think moving forward Lenders will need to be more creative with Products and how they interact with their customers.
If you could choose a superpower, what would it be?
Paris Laldee: If I could have a superpower it would be to Fly, I love traveling so it would certainly save on plane tickets.
And most importantly, pineapple pizza. Yay or nay?
Paris Laldee: Absolutely not!!!
